About this role
The School ICT Instructor delivers age-appropriate ICT training to students in New Horizons' School department, covering computer literacy, basic programming concepts, digital safety, and productivity tools. This role focuses on building strong technology fundamentals for younger learners as part of their broader school curriculum.

Responsibilities
- 01Deliver ICT lessons aligned with the school curriculum and student age group
- 02Teach computer literacy, keyboarding, and basic office productivity tools
- 03Introduce foundational programming concepts through beginner-friendly tools
- 04Cover internet safety, digital citizenship, and responsible technology use
- 05Assess student progress through classwork, quizzes, and practical exercises
- 06Coordinate with school administrators on curriculum pacing and reporting
- 07Maintain instructional facilities used for training and ensure the safety of students
- 08Research and recommend learning systems
- 09Conduct specific training for the trainee
- 10Give projects to students to test what has been learned
- 11Evaluate the effectiveness of each training session

Requirements
- 01Minimum 1-2 years of experience teaching ICT or computer studies to school-age students
- 02Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and general computer operations
- 03Patient, engaging teaching style suited to younger learners
- 04Basic familiarity with beginner programming tools (e.g. Scratch) is a plus
- 05Good classroom management skills
- 06BSc/HND in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or its equivalent
- 07Knowledge of front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/CSS, JavaScript)
- 08Graphics skills will be an added advantage (Photoshop or CorelDraw)
- 09Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- 10Good organization and multi-tasking abilities
- 11Post NYSC experience in teaching will be an added advantage

Qualifications
- 01Bachelor's degree, NCE, or diploma in Education, Computer Science, or related field
- 02Teaching certification or prior classroom experience preferred
- 03Experience with school-age curricula is an advantage
