About this role
As a Robotics & Embedded Systems Instructor, you will teach students how to design, program, and build robotic systems and embedded devices. The curriculum covers microcontroller programming (Arduino, Raspberry Pi), sensor integration, motor control, IoT protocols, and introductory mechatronics. Students will complete hands-on projects building functional robots and IoT devices.
Responsibilities
- 01Deliver training on robotics principles, embedded programming, and IoT
- 02Teach microcontroller programming (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32)
- 03Guide students through sensor integration, motor control, and actuator programming
- 04Design and maintain hands-on lab projects (line followers, robotic arms, IoT sensors)
- 05Cover IoT communication protocols (MQTT, HTTP, Bluetooth)
- 06Assess student competency through practical projects and demonstrations
- 07Maintain instructional facilities used for training and ensure the safety of students
- 08Research and recommend learning systems
- 09Conduct specific training for the trainee
- 10Give projects to students to test what has been learned
- 11Evaluate the effectiveness of each training session
Requirements
- 01Minimum 2 years of experience in robotics or embedded systems
- 02Proficiency in C/C++ and Python for embedded programming
- 03Hands-on experience with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or similar platforms
- 04Knowledge of electronics fundamentals (circuits, sensors, actuators)
- 05Strong problem-solving and teaching skills
- 06BSc/HND in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or its equivalent
- 07Knowledge of front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/CSS, JavaScript)
- 08Graphics skills will be an added advantage (Photoshop or CorelDraw)
- 09Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- 10Good organization and multi-tasking abilities
- 11Post NYSC experience in teaching will be an added advantage
Qualifications
- 01Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 02Experience with robotics competitions or industry projects is a plus
- 03Teaching or maker-space facilitation experience preferred
