About this role
As a Career Counsellor at New Horizons, you will guide students through career planning, job readiness, and professional development as they transition from training into the workforce. You will help students identify suitable career paths based on their training track, prepare them for interviews and job applications, and connect them with internship and employment opportunities.

Responsibilities
- 01Advise students on career paths aligned with their skills and training track
- 02Conduct one-on-one and group career counselling sessions
- 03Prepare students for job applications, CV writing, and interviews
- 04Organize career talks, employer engagement sessions, and job placement support
- 05Track student outcomes and maintain relationships with partner employers
- 06Collaborate with instructors to align career guidance with course content
- 07Maintain instructional facilities used for training and ensure the safety of students
- 08Research and recommend learning systems
- 09Conduct specific training for the trainee
- 10Give projects to students to test what has been learned
- 11Evaluate the effectiveness of each training session

Requirements
- 01Minimum 2 years of experience in career counselling, HR, or student advisory roles
- 02Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- 03Familiarity with the local job market and employer expectations
- 04Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds
- 05Bachelor's degree in Counselling, Psychology, HR, or related field
- 06BSc/HND in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or its equivalent
- 07Knowledge of front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/CSS, JavaScript)
- 08Graphics skills will be an added advantage (Photoshop or CorelDraw)
- 09Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- 10Good organization and multi-tasking abilities
- 11Post NYSC experience in teaching will be an added advantage

Qualifications
- 01Bachelor's degree in Counselling, Psychology, Human Resources, or related field
- 02Career counselling or coaching certification is a plus
- 03Prior experience in an educational or training institution preferred
